In Italian, La Dolce Vita means the sweet life. This fashion show represents that for the owner and designer, Richonna Dennis, from where she is now, and all that she has overcome. On March 17th, 2013, after months of being in a deep and dark depressive state, she attempted suicide. With God looking down on her, he saved her for a purpose, which is to spread her love for art and fashion amongst the world and help others realize their strengths and passions to overcome depression through the arts.
This fashion show will donate all proceeds to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). AFSP is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide. The show is an ode to the sweet things in life, the opposite of depression, a celebration of life, people, love, passion, and feeling good with whom you are and how you look through fashion.
